Fox Sports Arizona:
GLENDALE, Ariz. Collin Klein was the picture of dejection following Kansas States 35-17 loss to Oregon on Thursday in the Fiesta Bowl. To his coach, the quarterbacks countenance was no surprise.
He wears it on his sleeve, Wildcats coach Bill Snyder said. He wears his faith on his sleeve. He wears his enthusiasm on his sleeve. He wears his leadership on his sleeve. He wears the quality of person that he is on his sleeve, and hes not embarrassed by it by any stretch of the imagination.
To me, that just makes him so real and so genuine.
Kleins incredible senior ride came to a crashing halt at University of Phoenix Stadium against a Ducks defense that answered every challenge. Klein completed just 17 of 32 passes for 151 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions, and he rushed for just 30 yards on 13 carries.
Oregons underrated defensive front was staunch at the point of attack and quick to penetrate gaps to blow up plays in the backfield, posting six tackles for loss.
BEST OF MAXIM
Collin Klein rallied Kansas State after falling into an early hole against Oregon, bulling his way for one of his gutty touchdown runs.
He and the Wildcats just didn't have enough to keep up with the speedy Ducks.
Rocked by De'Anthony Thomas' 94-yard touchdown on the opening kickoff, No. 7 Kansas State never fully recovered and lost its fifth straight bowl game, 35...
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. The matchup seemed preordained. On the morning of Nov. 17, the penultimate weekend of the regular season, Oregon and Kansas State were the top two teams in the two most authoritative polls, undefeated and seldom challenged. Their resumes were flush with quality victories, their rosters loaded with skill and smarts.
There was reason for the consensus. Oregon had...
(AP) -- Very late in the season, Oregon and Kansas State were on track to meet for the national championship. One night in mid-November ended up ruining their chances to play for one.
The best postseason matchup besides the BCS title game certainly appears to be the Fiesta Bowl on Thursday, when Collin Klein and the seventh-ranked Wildcats will try to keep up with the high-powered...
Living in the moment served Kansas State well this season. The seventh-ranked Wildcats rose to No. 1 in the BCS standings, won the Big 12 title and reached the Fiesta Bowl.
But after finishing the season with a loss to No. 5 Oregon on Thursday night, Kansas State can finally turn its attention to the future.
That means life without quarterback Collin Klein, linebacker Arthur Brown...
Kansas State and Oregon lost on the same day in November, all but ending their national championship hopes.
The Wildcats and Ducks ended up with a nice consolation prize: Facing each other in the Fiesta Bowl on Thursday night.
No. 5 Oregon (11-1) is in its fourth straight BCS bowl, has fast and talented players, and one of the most dynamic offensive backfields in college football...
#4 Oregon vs. #5 Kansas State

Thursday, January 3rd, 8:30 PM on ESPN
The Fiesta Bowl is the new kid on the BCS block, originating decades after the other marquee bowls in 1971, but it wisely locked in Miami and Penn State in 1986 when they were #1 and #2 in the country and independent. This allowed the bowl to guarantee...

In a match-up that, before the last few weeks of the college football regular season, was supposed to be the National Championship game, the well-coached Kansas State Wildcats (Bill Snyder is one of the best coaches all-time) face the likely NFL-bound, Chip Kelly Oregon Ducks and their high powered, devastating offense.
While this game doesn't feature as many high profile...
For nearly two weeks, both Kansas State and Oregon sat No. 1 and No. 2 in the BCS standings. Now, those dreams are over, and it's time to see who's done pouting and who's going to step up to the challenge. The challenge, of course, being the 2012 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. 1. Kenjon Barner and De'Anthony Thomas Kenjon Barner had to wait two seasons to get out of the shadow...
De'Anthony Thomas caught the opening kickoff, raced past Oregon's sideline and leaned his head into the end zone like a sprinter crossing the finish line.
The track meet had started and the fifth-ranked Ducks (No. 4 in BCS Standings) barely looked back after that.
Triggered by Thomas' 94-yard return, Oregon bolted by No. 7 Kansas State (No. 5 in BCS) 35-17 Thursday...
