I’m going to go out on a limb and assume that this Police Officer and Charlie Strong know each other from Strong’s time in Florida, because that was an emphatic hand slap. If you watch closely at the end of the video, you can tell that between the handslap and the smile, this state police officer wanted Louisville to pull off the upset.Video via: Sports Pickle
The Florida Gators may have lost the game to the Louisville Cardinals last night but Jon Bostic laid out this Louisville player. He swung a closed fisted punch at the Louisville player. This violent act wasn’t enough to overcome the Cards and Charlie Strong. Sportsmanship was lacking is that game. HT @ClutchLikeMJ
So far in the first half of the Allstate Sugar Bowl, Florida coach Will Muschamp must be kicking himself. Back in the early Spring of 2011, the newly crowned emperor of Gator football decided to pass on lifetime Gator fan, Teddy Bridgewater, a rising quarterback prospect out of Miami; instead, Muschamp went with top … Continue reading »
The picture to the right is of Florida Gators’ linebacker Darrin Kitchens. But that’s not the picture of Kitchens you want to see. The picture of Kitchens you should be looking at is here. Go ahead and click that link; you won’t regret it.
On Wednesday night, after the Gators suffered a shocking and embarrassing defeat at the hands of the Louisville Cardinals, Kitchens stood...
Sometimes a picture is worth a thousands words this one taken at the end of Louisville/Florida Sugar Bowl game speaks a lot.
The lone Florida player is backup linebacker Darrin Kitchens who is the only member of the Florida team to stand during the team's alma mater song.
The song is usually reserved for victories but Kitchens still went over to show his support....
Every time Florida wins, the team stays out on the field to sing the alma mater with the band. On Wednesday night, the Gators suffered a shocking loss to Louisville in the Sugar Bowl. The players and coaches were understandably disappointed after losing a BCS game that almost everyone assumed they would win, but junior linebacker Darrin Kitchens was in no mood to sulk.
As you can...
NEW ORLEANS -- They were two of the centerpieces behind Florida's turnaround this season, which likely was at the center of decisions made by junior safety Matt Elam and junior defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd to make themselves available for the 2013 NFL draft.
Both players confirmed they were NFL-bound after UF's 33-23 loss Wednesday night to Louisville in the Sugar Bowl...
GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Florida tight end Jordan Reed is leaving school early and entering the NFL draft.
Reed announced his decision Friday, joining safety Matt Elam and defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd in skipping their senior season.
Reed, a junior from New London, Conn., led the team in receiving this season. He had 45 receptions for 559 yards and three touchdowns. He was a first...
No. 4 Florida is losing at least three underclassmen to the NFL.
Tight end Jordan Reed, the team's leading receiver this season, declared for the NFL draft Friday. He joined safety Matt Elam and defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd as Florida players skipping their senior season.
Reed, a junior from New London, Conn., had 45 receptions for 559 yards and three touchdowns this season...
Tim Tebow is spotted on a different sideline and this time it doesn’t belong to the New York Jets. With his NFL season over, it appears Tebow has enough time to travel to the Allstate Sugar Bowl. Tebow is on the sidelines to watch his former Gators take on former Gator coach and current head coach Charlie … Continue reading »
Many college football teams have a tradition to stand on the field together as the marching band plays the school’s alma mater. I would venture to wager the majority of those teams do so win or lose.
On Wednesday night in New Orleans, just one player remained on the field to hear the alma mater for Florida after the Gators were roughed up by Big East champion Louisville to the...
The Gators lost their third player to leave early for the NFL Draft on Friday when tight end Jordan Reed announced he will forgo his senior year to play professionally. The redshirt junior ended the 2012 season as Florida’s leading receiver.
Even if we did see this coming, the sting is still real. Florida Gators’ junior safety Matt Elam and junior defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd have both announced they will forgo their senior seasons and enter the 2013 NFL Draft.
Eventually, there will be many things to smile about when looking back at the Florida Gators season. For the immediate future, we’ll only remember the...
What a performance that was from Florida at the Sugar Bowl. ESPN reported the school only sold 7,000 tickets to the game against Louisville, making this game a dud for a school that thought it should be playing for the BCS championship.
And this is why you’re getting a playoff. You think Florida gives more effort if that was Notre Dame on the other sideline? The Gators were...
How often do you see a touchdown from a kick off? Rarely right? Well, Andre DeBose of the Florida Gators took it to the house against the Louisville Cardinals. Andre DeBose out of Florida is amazing. Maybe he’ll have another chance at a return.
