Louisville senior center Mario Benavides has been named a finalist for the 2012 Rimington Trophy, which is awarded to the nation’s best center.

The winner of the Rimington Trophy will be presented live during the ESPNU Red Carpet Show on this Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Atlantic Dance Hall on Disney’s Boardwalk at the Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
Benavides has been an anchor for the Louisville offensive line throughout his entire career. He’s started started 46 of the last 50 games, and owns a streak of 21 consecutive starts dating back to last season.
Mario has a bright future at the next level and whatever he decides to do after football.
