Charlie Strong and the Louisville football program check in at No. 8 in Sports Illustrated’s Post Spring Top 25 rankings. Last week ESPN.com tabbed Louisville No. 4 in their preseason rankings.
I’ve always thought that regardless if they go undefeated or not, Louisville will have a tough time being able to play for a national championship. However, if the rankings from Sports Illustrated and ESPN are similar to what the actual polls show, it’s definitely possible. They’d just need to win each game rather convincingly and hope those ranked ahead lose at least one game.

Culver is rated as a three star prospect and also has scholarship offers from Ole Miss, Kentucky, South Carolina and Mississippi...
Charlie Strong picked up commitment number 11 from the 2014 recruiting class this afternoon.
Jared McCray, a 6-foot-4, 310-pound offensive tackle from Minford, OH., has verbally pledged to become a Cardinal.
Louisville defensive backs coach Tommy Restivo has been recruiting the state of Ohio very hard in the last two weeks. McCray was one of his targets.
Rivals.com ranks McCray as...
Michaelee Harris came to Louisville as one of the top prospects in Head Coach Charlie Strong’s second recruiting class. The 4-Star Wide Receiver out of Miami was rated the 16th best at his position coming out of high school.
Michaelee entered his Cardinal Campaign with a tremendous ability at route-running, great explosion and superb hands. With the Cards losing two...
University of Louisville football coach Charlie Strong and his staff continued its recent recruiting success, picking up another commitment on Tuesday afternoon. The Cardinals 11th commitment in the Class of 2014 is Minford, Ohio, offensive lineman Jared McCray. Cardinal Authority has the story:
When Louisville sophomore guard Kevin Ware went down with a compound fracture to his right leg in the regional finals of the NCAA tournament, it was tough to predict when exactly he’ll be able to return to the court.
A gruesome injury like that will require at least eight months of rehab before Ware can even think about participating in full contact practices. However, Ware is...
Peyton Siva recently picked up some good news in regards to his professional future. The championship point guard has been invited to the 2013 NBA Draft Combine in Chicago, IL. This year’s combine will be held from Wednesday, May 15 until Monday, May 19.
For the last few weeks, Siva has been training in Las Vegas at the Impact Basketball Academy with plenty of other NBA hopefuls...
Our friend Mike Lindsey, better known as @CrumsRevenge, has outdone himself once again. Mike was asked by a close and personal friend of Rick Pitino to put together a highlight mix of Pitino’s tenure here at Louisville. Coach Pitino and his friends got their first glimpse of the montage and I can only assume they were all impressed.
Given that I was only twelve years old when Rick...
The first four months of 2013 have been pretty magical for Louisville head basketball coach Rick Pitino. In early April Pitino became the first coach to ever win a national championship with two different programs, after Louisville defeated Michigan in the 2013 national title game. The same day the Cardinals cut down the nets, Pitino was also inducted into the Naismith Basketball...
Louisville's Kevin Ware, still on crutches as he nurses his broken leg, was seen makin' it do what it do with Young Jeezy.
Four weeks ago tonight, the University of Louisville captured the school’s third NCAA national title with a victory over Michigan at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. U of L coach Rick Pitino didn’t win the Kentucky Derby on Saturday but it’s still been some kind of month for the athletic program. Cardinal Authority looks back.

Forget being on a Wheaties box — you know you’ve really made it when you get a limited-edition bourbon bottle made with your face on it — or at least that’s how it works in Kentucky.
Maker’s Mark, the brand known for its famous Kentucky Bourbon Whisky, is based in Loretto, Kentucky, and has been placing special sports...
