The circus that is the SEC Media Day got underway on Tuesday morning in Hoover, AL. The annual event is a time for the college football snobs of the world and the media that covers them to gather and display arrogance as a whole.
In all seriousness, I recognize how dominant the Southeastern Conference has been on gridiron, particularly over the last decade. With that said, I’m sure I’m not the only Louisville fan who is often irritated by the arrogance displayed by the members of the league who’ve played no part in the SEC’s success. I’m sure you’re aware of who I am referring to.
The Louisville football team is coming off of a Sugar Bowl win against perennial SEC powerhouse Florida. Charlie Strong returns one of the more talented teams in the country and has a legitimate shot to run the table in 2013. However, if you ask “SEC guy,” regardless of how much success Louisville has, it doesn’t matter, because they don’t play in the Southeastern Conference.
