Found October 25, 2013 on The Cardinal Connect:
Defense - This week’s standout performer may not be found on paper at games end.  Having clearly the strongest season to his career, senior Defensive Tackle Brandon Dunn is often apparent to be a man among boys.  Not only is Brandon on pace to crush his career high tackle count of 28, but the things he does on the front line to attract blockers and allow the guys on the outside to get pressure is immeasurable.  Defensive Ends Lorenzo Mauldin and Marcus Smith are a couple of the top Ends in the league with much credit due to the amount of attention Dunn draws to the interior.  Opponents are now having to game plan around Brandon and take notice.  It’s about time we all do the same. Offense - As it stands USF is currently the 8th worst defense against the rush in the AAC giving up over 160 yards per game with an average of 4.3 yards per carry.  Unfortunately for the Bulls, Louisville has the 2nd strongest rushing attack in the league averaging almost exactly what USF is giving up at 1...

A ho-hummer for Louisville over South Florida

A tedious, methodical dissecting of a team in disarray, putting University of Louisville football back in the win column. A 34-3 decision over South Florida that goes down as another uninspiring performance, yawn, from a team that isn’t likely to be remembered for anything beyond Teddy Bridgewater’s phenomenal passing. He continued to pad his stats, completing 25 of 29 passes...

The Cards Aren’t Quite As Far Along As Pitino Expected

The expectations are high this season for Rick Pitino and the Louisville men’s basketball program. The Cardinals return nearly 75% of their scoring from last year’s national championship team. However, a couple of key returning pieces haven’t been able to make much of an impact just yet. Junior forward Chane Behanan has been a big presence in the front-court for Rick Pitino...

Saturday’s Game Will Be A Homecoming For Damian Copeland

GAME EIGHT: Louisville at South Florida

The Louisville Cardinals visit South Florida for a noon kickoff at Raymond James Action. U of L looks to rebound following the team's first loss of the season.

It may not have been the best performance of the season for Charlie Strong and the Louisville Cardinals, but all in all, there is very little you can complain about after today’s 34-3 win over South Florida. The Cardinal defense had their worst performance of the season last week against Central Florida, but they bounced back in a major way this afternoon. South Florida had a total...

Pitino Says Luke Hancock Is Expected To Miss Some Games

Zimbio I think it’s safe to say that had it not been for Luke Hancock’s Final Four heroic act, the Louisville Basketball program wouldn’t be revealing their third national championship banner on Nov. 9th in their season opener. Hancock’s momentum followed him throughout the summer where he competed with the United States team in the 2013 World University Games.  He was one...
