Summer of 2013 marks the highest preseason rankings that the Louisville football team has received in quite some time. Their 11-2 regular season coupled with the outstanding performance by Teddy Bridgewater & Co. in the Sugar Bowl helped to earn the program a great deal of national attention and respect.
One publication, however, isn’t quite sold on this year’s Cardinals as a national contender. The Sporting News, in their annual college football preview magazine, thinks highly enough of Louisville’s talent to place them just outside their top ten, at No. 11, but are quick to argue those who think the team deserves a higher ranking. Here’s what the outlet had to say:

Earlier in the week, on College Football Live, Kevin Carter and Anish Shroff of ESPN revealed their top five picks for this seasons Heisman Trophy. Just how impactful Dyer can be is a question...

NEWPORT, R.I. (AP) -- Louisville is the overwhelming favorite to win the American Athletic Conference in its last season as a member of the league formerly known as the Big East.
The Cardinals, who are led by star quarterback Teddy Bridgewater, received 28 of 30 first-place votes from a media panel. Louisville moves into the Atlantic Coast Conference next season, but hopes it can...
Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is projected to be the first quarterback taken in next year’s NFL Draft. As long as Teddy stays healthy, I think it’s safe to say that he’ll likely head to the professional ranks following his junior season. However, Bridgewater may not be the only one who forgoes his senior season.
Junior wide receiver DeVante Parker is coming off a...
Preseason #9 Louisville Cardinals just got a big boost. Former Auburn and Arkansas State running back Michael Dyer will enroll at Louisville and is eligible immediately. Fitz Hill, the President of Arkansas Baptist College and also Dyer’s mentor said:
“He’s excited to have an opportunity to resume his career,” Hill told USA TODAY Sports on Thursday evening. “Many people...
