LSU football pulled off one of the biggest moves on the recruiting trail in the 2024 cycle when five-star offensive tackle Weston Davis flipped his commitment from Texas A&M to LSU last month.

Now, Davis will make his first trip to Death Valley since committing to the purple and gold. The coveted lineman will be in town when the Bayou Bengals take on Florida on Saturday.

LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis made the trip to Beaumont (Tex.) last month for a visit with Davis. Shortly after the trip, the decision was made. Davis pledged to the Tigers.

The No. 3 offensive tackle in America joined a 2024 recruiting class that was in need of a major splash. Now, LSU received the exclamation point to the current cycle.

The Top 20 prospect in the country had remained committed to Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M since the summer, but LSU’s coaching staff continued to push for the prized offensive lineman.

With the commitment of Davis, the Tigers have now reeled in a five-star offensive lineman in the last three recruiting cycles with Will Campbell (2022) and Lance Heard (2023) joining Davis.

It’s as big of a move on the recruiting trail as LSU could have made this year as Kelly and Co. continue making moves in order to bolster this roster for the long haul.

The Other Monster Visitor: Harlem Berry

Brian Kelly is dialing up an impressive visitors list for this weekend against Florida with this program shifting focus towards the 2025 cycle. On Saturday, LSU will get a visit from a top target: Harlem Berry.

The No. 1 running back in the 2025 class will make his way to Baton Rouge for a visit to Death Valley on Saturday as LSU continues its push for the top Louisiana prospect.

Berry recently released his top schools with the Tigers making the cut. The electrifying back has put the country on notice, and for running backs coach Frank Wilson, he’ll roll out the red carpet on Saturday for his top target.

Get familiar with Berry's recruitment:

The Upcoming Visit: Florida Game

Berry has made his way to Baton Rouge on several occasions this year, including a game day visit for the Auburn matchup. From unofficial visits to camping at LSU over the summer, it's no secret there is mutual interest between both parties.

The No. 1 running back in America recently released his top schools with Kelly and Co. sitting alongside several elite programs including Texas and Oklahoma.

Now, the Tigers will get another crack at Berry where he will be joined by a star-studded 2025 visitors list, including James Simon (the No. 2 RB in Louisiana) and four-star LSU target Keylan Moses (No. 8 player in Louisiana).

The Good: The Frank Wilson Effect

LSU running backs coach Frank Wilson rarely swings and misses on top Louisiana prospects, especially at the running back position. Of course, there is always the occasional miss in the recruiting game, but Wilson is a master of his craft.

Wilson has taken the lead on Berry's recruitment with the two developing a tight knit relationship over the last handful of months while LSU has turned up the heat.

For a player of Berry's caliber, the top player in Louisiana will have several potential suitors, but Wilson will certainly do his due diligence as time goes on.

It's a long way out until the 2025 prospect puts pen to paper and LSU will continue a full court press for his services.
