Found November 04, 2013 on The Duck Stops Here:
One of the keys to Oregon's season this year has been the emergence of Byron Marshall, who has very quietly emerged as the #1 running back, on his way to having one of the best seasons in Oregon history. Preseason, one of the concerns about the Ducks was a perceived thinness at RB after Kenjon Barner graduated. Could De'Anthony Thomas handle the load as a feature back? Would Thomas Tyner contribute as a freshman. Marshall had shown some promise as a true freshman, rushing 87 times for 447 yards in a mop-up role, a 5.1-yard average with a long run of 32 yards. He ran hard but like many young players he looked hesitant at times, and fans had the notion that he didn't have the elite speed of Tyner, James or Barner (Gary Breedlove, Eugene Daily News photo).   Flash forward eight games into the season, and Marshall's convinced even the skeptics. He's had six 100-yard games, including the last five in a row, erupting for a career-high 192 and 3 touchdowns against ...

Thanks to New Shoes Oregon Ducks Still Undisputed No.1 in Swag

The University  of Oregon is the undisputed King of Swag. No one has stuff quite like they do. Lots of teams try; many have several different helmets, custom cleats, gold chin straps, special socks and unique facemasks. No matter what they (and by they I mean everyone but Oregon) come up with the Ducks will always have something better. Like these new shoes the team just got...

The College Football Universe Top 126 for week 11 features changes to many of the teams' rankings in the middle to lower half. A lot of schools are settling in at their rank while others drastically moved. Miami dropped the farthest in the CFU top 25 due to the blowout loss against Florida State and since Duke Johnson is out for the season with an injury. Teams also do not...

Oregon Suspends Basketball Players Dominic Artis and Ben Carter for Selling Team-Issued Apparel

19th ranked Oregon has suspended point guard Dominic Artis and forward Ben Carter indefinitely for selling team gear.  I haven’t seen a move this idiotic by a college athlete since the football players at Ohio State exchanged memorabilia for tattoos.  One has to wonder, were they dumb enough not to realize that selling team-issued apparel is an NCAA violation, or did they simply...

Oregon Suspends Two Basketball Players 10-15 Games for Selling Exclusive Shoes

The Oregon basketball team has suspended basketball players Dominic Artis and Ben Carter following a violation of NCAA rules. What violation was it? They sold exclusive shoes given to them by Oregon (Nike). They allegedly sold the sneakers over the summer along with three other former players. Oregon actually self-reported the violation so there shouldn’t be anymore trouble...

Oregon suspends two men's basketball players for NCAA violations

Only months after receiving some harmless, slap-on-the-wrist sanctions from the NCAA for paying a Texas football recruiting service $25,000 for dubious reports, the University of Oregon could again be in potential hot water, as the school announced today that men’s basketball student-athletes Ben Carter and Dominic Artis violated NCAA rules by selling team-issued apparel over the...

((HT: Campus Insiders)) There's a certain sense of obvious irony here with the act in the headline and the benefactor of the program, but the HQ digresses for the moment... But our friends over at Campus Insiders have details on the University of Oregon dropping the hammer on three former players who sold team shoes along with current players Dominic Artis and Ben Carter...
