Syracuse is defense heavy for the ’12 recruiting class, but one playmaker SU inked up is Tottenville High School’s Alvin Cornelius. He’s one of only two WRs brought in this year by SU (Ben Lewis). During the summer months, Cornelius was on The Fizz’s top 5 impact players coming to Syracuse next season. Plenty has changed for the Orange since then, but the NYC product is still a talent and says his greatest strength is his hands.
During his junior season at Tottenville, Alvin built a mini-rivalry with current Orange DB Brandon Reddish. BR played WR for Fort Hamilton, and both were considered the top receivers in the PSAL in New York. Reddish also matched up as a corner on Cornelius when both teams met.
