Amara Darboh Michigan Football announced on Wednesday morning that sophomore receiver Amara Darboh was out for the season with a foot injury that would require surgery. ”I love Amara, and just hate it for him, how hard he worked through the offseason and fall camp to earn a starting role,” said Brady Hoke. “We’ll rally around him like a family does and help him get through this difficult time.” Darboh was a likely candidate to start at receiver and had been developing a reputation as a player with great ball skills. Darboh appeared in 12 games last year, almost exclusively on special teams. The question now is, who will step up in the wake of Darboh’s unfortunate injury? The cast of characters who will compete for the position is unproven and like Darboh, very inexperienced. Michigan’s receiving corps Jeremy Gallon: The redshirt senior is poised for a big season. Drew Dileo: Now a senior, Dileo already figured prominently in Michigan’s slot plans. Darboh’s injury doesn’t change that. Jehu Chesson: A redshirt sophomore, Chesson has good size, 6-3, 196, and is probably Michigan’s fastest receiver. Jeremy Jackson: A senior, Jackson has 11 career receptions. Joe Reynolds: A redshirt senior, Reynolds caught all three of his career passes last season. Dennis Norfleet: The kick returner extraordinaire has moved to the slot this year. Da’Mario Jones: A 6-foot-2, 192 pound true freshman, Jones was already a candidate to play early. Jaron Dukes: Dukes is a 6-foot-4, 190 pound freshman. Csont’e York: He’s a 6-foot-3, 180 pound freshman.
