The Cowboys pulled off a stunner when they traded up in the draft to select LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne sixth overall on Thursday. Not only was it a surprise because they traded two picks (No. 14 and 45 overall) to move up eight spots, but also because they had so little contact with Claiborne prior to the draft.

IRVING, Texas (AP) -- The Dallas Cowboys have selected LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne with the sixth overall pick in the NFL draft after making a trade to move up eight spots in the first round.

The Dallas Cowboys traded up from their original fourteenth overall pick and obtained the Rams sixth overall pick. With the sixth overall pick the Cowboys selected cornerback Morris Claiiborne from Louisiana State University.
