As if the Manti Te'o story couldn't get any weirder, now Dr. Phil McGraw — who questioned Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, the mastermind behind the Te'o fake girlfriend prank, in his first public interview which will air Thursday and Friday on the "Dr. Phil" show — tells NBC that he believes Tuiasosopo genuinely fell in love with the Notre Dame football star during the course of the two-year deception. "Here we have a young man that fell deeply, romantically in love," McGraw told NBC's Mike Tiabbi. "I asked him straight up, 'Was this a romantic relationship with you?' And he says yes. I said, 'Are you then therefore gay?' And he said, 'When you put it that way, yes.' And then he caught himself and said, 'I am confused.'"

In the two-part interview with Dr. Phil, Tuiasosopo said Te'o was nothing more than an innocent victim in the Catfish hoax. "I wanted to end it because after everything I had gone through, I finally realized that I just had to move on with my life," Tuiasosopo told McGraw in the interview. McGraw told Taibbi that, after speaking with Tuaisosopo, he believes that Te'o "absolutely, unequivocally" was not involved in the hoax in any way.

  • Wondering what all this overblown publicity about a Notre Dame football player was leading up to!

The liberal media's darling subject of the decade, the gay issue. It is so reminiscent of the old Soviet press whose job was to bend the minds of the general public with constant focus and bombardment on readers of the ruling party propaganda......... even on the sports page!

We are just getting a taste for now!
  • So...this is all part of a "liberal media" conspiracy to...make people think it's ok to make up a fake persona, and deceive thousands of people...if you're gay??? You can't be that idiotic, then again, if you're a conservative...I stand duly corrected. You after all are the people still having difficulty defining exactly what rape is. I actually believe it's an elaborate plot by Democrats to get get even more people to turn away from the Republican party by having party members post ridiculous comments.
  • Absolutely...its conservative behavior, to make everything
a liberal point of view, that conservatives are most liberal
at every opportunity to be liberal with the word liberal.
I hope I'm not being too liberal?
  • Get your self together man! Take your meds. it is not even news, and yes Obama won again!Grow up and deal with it
  • what's that quack dr. phil know anyhow. he doesn't even have a license to practice medicine. he's a dimwit too.
