Players from Ohio State’s 2002 national championship team hoisted their former coach Jim Tressel on their shoulders. Meantime, the crowd gave him a standing ovation at Ohio Stadium.

OSU honored the 10th anniversary of the program’s 2002 football team — the last Buckeye squad to win a national championship.

Saturday’s game against Michigan was the final time the undefeated Buckeyes took the field this season.

Ohio State won 26-21. They would have challenged for a BCS title.

But the NCAA levied a postseason ban against OSU as a result of the “Tattoo-Gate” scandal that ultimately forced Tressel to resign in May 2011.

  • Liars and cheats are always welcome!
  • Tressel was wrong to be there. Thanks to him Ohio State was hit with all those sanctions. Had he come forward when he heard of what was going on he would still be the coach at Ohio State. When he didn't come forward everything just snowballed. No Tressel you should not have taken the spotlight from the present Ohio State team.
  • Railroaded in Ohio

Tressel is a man of great leadership, yes he may have made a mistake. But the real problem is the Leagues rules. These kids play there hearst out and work year round , unable to work part time jobs to have some form of a life . If the College league paid them based opn gradepoint , leadership and performance on the field , these kids would not be selling their rings to make ends meet.

Football is big big money for the Colleges , and paying these kids would elimiate these issues.

On another note, allowing kids to leave college before they graduate from college is crazy! Every college in the Nation hopes their All Star is not picked up by the NFL before his elgibility ends. If the colleges mandated that the NFL re-pay to the colleges when a student opts out before a diploma is in hand. The NFL should repay the college for their investment for the scholarships provided.

You can say what you want , but firing a winning coach because he knew they sold their earned rings to gain cash is a lame excuse.Lets face it Tressel was railroaded out of town on a technicality . Those who blame Tressel are clueless how College Football and its cash revenue really works.....

GO BUCKS ...ALWAYS WILL BE A JIM TRESSELL FAN, EVEN THOUGH IM A GEORGIA BULLDOGS FAN AS WELL.

The Ohio State Buckeyes Cannot Let The Michigan Wolverines Halt Their March To Perfection
