The Minnesota Golden Gophers are beginning to fill out their recruiting class for 2025 and while they have yet to sign a recruit higher than three stars, a noted recruiting analyst believes they have one with four or five-star potential in California quarterback Jackson Kollack.

CBS Sports' Tom Lemming praised Kollack, who is a 6-foot-4, 222-pound quarterback from Laguna Beach High School, and noted his potential, arm strength, footwork and accuracy. In a post on X, Lemming stated that he believes Kollack is a four-star recruit with five-star potential as he enters his senior season.

According to 247 Sports, Kollock is listed as a three-star recruit and the 30th quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class. He completed 63 percent of his passes for 5,376 yards with 73 touchdowns and eight interceptions over his first two years as a starter at Laguna Beach including throwing for over 3,100 yards during his junior season.

Kollock also has adequate mobility, rushing for 418 yards and 12 touchdowns over the past two seasons.

"Kollock is a fast-rising quarterback whose stock has really soared over the past year," 247 analyst Greg Biggins said of Kollockvia Gopher Illustrated's Ryan Burns. "He had a solid sophomore season and then impressed us at multiple events this offseason. He has taken his game to another level as a junior and still has a lot of untapped potential. You can see the game is slowing down for him, he's making quick decisions with the football and has the kind of all-around game that translates really well to the college level."

Kollack initially committed to Washington last fall but de-committed after former Huskies coach Kalen DeBoer took the head coaching job at Alabama.

With incoming transfer Max Brosmer out of eligibility after next season and Drake Lindsey and Max Shikenjanski projected for the 2025 roster, Kollock seems to have an opportunity waiting for him in Minnesota. If he can find the field, he could be one of the gems of P.J. Fleck's latest recruiting class.
