Although N.C State David Amerson leads the FBS in interceptions with 11, he certainly does not lead the NCAA. The current leader in interceptions is Bucknell’s defensive back Bryce Robertson with 13. What? You’ve never heard of him? Well now you have! Robertson as a Senior has emerged as the leader for this Bison defense, and while doing so, he has created the treacherous Robertson Island.
Before this year, Robertson only recorded one interception, and that was his Sophomore year. Now if anybody throws in the Senior’s area it’s basically his. In his first 5 games this season, Robertson had 5 picks. And in his last 5 games, Robertson has intercepted the QB 8 times. He has had 4 games this season where he’s had 2 interceptions (Bucknell is 3-1 when Robertson has 2 interceptions). Why would a QB even throw it to his side!?! This guy is just a football magnet. Bucknell might not have the hardest schedule in the Patriot League, but there’s no denying that this 4-year starter has talent.
Let’s hope that his record breaking season gets him in the league.
