Aaron Murray will not only go down as one of the greatest players in the history of the Georgia Bulldogs football program, but he will also go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks in the long and storied history of the SEC. Murray made his intention clear before the season even began when he told ESPN.com’s David Ching: “The No. 1 reason why I came back this year is to win a championship — to win an SEC championship game, to win a national championship So I think that’s pretty much it. If I leave here with a championship, with some rings, that’s all I care about.” Before the season began, one of the biggest questions concerning Murray was if he could finally win big games. Murray answered those questions at the start of the year when he was able to lead the Bulldogs to wins against South Carolina and LSU, both teams that were ranked in the Top 10 at the time. In the South Carolina game, he threw for 309 yards, four touchdowns and zero interceptions. In the LSU game, Murray threw for 298 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. In the heart-breaking loss against Auburn, Murray threw for 415 yards and two touchdown passes and should have scored his third big win of the year. While his final season won’t live up to his highest expectations, he did a lot to show NFL executives and coaches that he is a viable option at the next level, and should be drafted high in the 2014 NFL Draft. His stock can get another big boost if he puts on a good showing at this year’s Senior Bowl, which he’s reportedly already been accepted into
