Found January 02, 2012 on The Cardinal Connect:
On January 7th, the Louisville football program could find itself in some familiar territory on national television.  Last January, shortly after the first half of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl game Louisville received commitments from Gerod Holliman and Andrew Johnson.  For this years All-American game, the Cardinals are hoping to have a similar feat with four star Miami Norland linebacker Keith Brown and four star Charlotte (N.C) linebacker Nick Dawson. The 6′-1″ 225-pound Brown announced that he will be making his final college decision during the telecast of this years U.S. Army All-America Bowl.  That decision will be made between Louisville, Miami & Illinois.  Brown at one time throughout the recruiting process has been committed to both Miami and Illinois.  Brown’s existing relationships with current Louisville players Teddy Bridgewater, Michaelee Harris, Eli Rogers & Corvin Lamb should bode well for the Cardinals.  Even more so the playing time that Bridgewater, Ha...

Former Louisville defensive tackle Greg Scruggs is asking for your forgiveness. Scruggs was arrested at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday Dec. 17 in Shepherdsville on a drunken-driving charge after hitting a light pole along Interstate 65. Due to the arrest, the senior did not make the trip to Charlotte with the team for the Belk Bowl. The arrest came as a big shock to the entire city of Louisville...

Gorgui Dieng’s return to Madison Square Garden

Louisville 73 – St. Johns 58: First Big East Win

That may have been one of the ugliest double-digit wins I’ve seen in a long time, but I’ll take it. Road games in league play don’t come too easy. This team still isn’t where they need to be, but tonight was definitely a step in the right direction. This was a sluggish start as usual for the Cards, but once they were able to force some turnovers and knock down three’s,...

Big East reality confronts U of L basketball

So what kind of University of Louisville basketball team do we really have? Is it the team that raced to a 12-game winning streak or the one that was 0-2 against a couple of good teams last week? The results up to now don’t reveal much, with all but two of those games having been played at the KFC Yum! Center. Sure, UofL has plenty of defensive intensity when 20,000 or more fans...

Making Sense of Louisville

Despite the fact that conference play has started in most leagues and we now have at least a dozen games upon which to evaluate each team, there are still some squads I can’t get a great read on. Over the coming weeks, my plan is to take a closer look at these teams in an attempt to formulate an opinion one way or the other. The first team I wanted to break down is Louisville...
