Nick Saban got 'hoodwinked' into viral Ferrari video with recruit

A video featuring Alabama head coach Nick Saban went viral for all the reasons you'd expect:

  1. It had Saban, a seven-time national champion head coach and known grouch.
  2. It featured a beautiful crimson-red Ferrari.
  3. The triple Styrofoam cup.

Check it out:

"Look, I got kind of hoodwinked into that," Saban told Pat McAfee regarding the viral video (h/t On3). "One of the guys that had been visiting? We always have the players over to the house for breakfast on Sunday morning. We walk out, they see the car, and they all ooh and ahh about the car. They said, ‘Why don’t you start it up?’ I didn’t know the guy was going to video it and it was going to go viral. But that’s the way it goes.”

The player who was visiting Saban at his home was three-star safety Dre Kirkpatrick Jr., an Alabama commit and son of former Crimson Tide star Dre Kirkpatrick.

Considering his ties and commitment to the program, he'll without a doubt slide on the charge of once again making Saban an internet sensation. With that said, he did give us a peek at the triple styrofoam cup, which will certainly be memed for the rest of all time. For that, we owe Kirkpatrick Jr. our thanks.

“The triple styrofoam cup? I mean, across all demographics, that was loved,” McAfee joked with Saban. “I mean, coach? The more we learn about you, I think the more we love you. You need to understand that.”
