In order for the Blazers to produce their first winning season since 2004, improving on that side of the ball is a must. The Blazers haven’t beaten East Division favorite East Carolina since 2006 and this year’s Nov. 16 game in Greenville will be a big measuring stick for McGee’s program. The Blazers are coming off their second straight 3-9 season, but there are reasons for optimism.  Sophomore quarterback Austin Brown should improve in his second year. He threw for 2,673 yards and 15 touchdowns with 12 interceptions last season.
