When Venric Mark of Northwestern returned this punt 75 yards for a TD, the Wildcats took an 11 point lead at Penn State. It looked like NU might get their first 6-0 start since 1962 and Pat Fitzgerald would get his first win over PSU. But the NU defense collapsed in the second half, tired from being on the field most of the day, as Penn St. dominated time of possession, and PSU went on to win 39-28. With his team leading 21-17, Mark took the punt seventy-five yards to the house and put the Wildcats up 28-17. Northwestern returns punt 75 yards for touchdown

Venric Mark returns a punt 75 yards for a touchdown at the end of the 3rd quarter against Penn State. The ensuing extra point put the Wildcats up 28-17 at Penn State. UPDATE: Penn State mounted a 22 unanswered point 4th quarter comeback to defeat the Northwestern Wildcats 28-39. Bill O’Brien’s Penn State squad is now 2-0 in the B1G in his first season with the Nittany Lions.
