On Saturday, Notre Dame fans received the sad news that outside linebacker Danny Spond would be calling it quits after dealing with medical issues for several years. Spond was a clear starter and one of the team leaders, and will remain with the team to help coach. Tonight, Spond took to Twitter to thank fans for all the support they have given him: It’s easy to see why the fans love Danny Spond — he has a bright future ahead of him outside of football.
