Fans of the Oregon Ducks may have had a bit of a brief scare Friday when ESPN college football analyst Chris Fowler reported that the head of the school's beloved Duck mascot went missing: BREAKING NEWS; The ORE Duck head is missing. While skydiving today, it came loose & plummeted to earth. A search is ongoing. No joke.— Chris Fowler (@cbfowler) November 16, 2012 The skydiving stunt was arranged by ESPN to promote Saturday morning's episode of College GameDay, which will be broadcast live from the university campus. As video evidence, here's footage of the person in the Duck mascot costume landing without his head, courtesy of KVAL. Fortunately, the Duck head was found about a half hour later by a Good Samaritan and returned to the school. However, Fowler also pointed out that it would not have been a full scale panic for Oregon fans, as the Duck head that was lost was only the "third string model". Certainly made for an interesting day in Eugene. Video via KVAL. H/T Lost Lettermen via LBS.
