Now that Chip Kelly has officially announced his return to the Ducks, I figured it would be appropriate to start getting everyone’s hopes up about the upcoming season (even if it is about 7 months away). Not only will the Ducks be bringing back one of the great minds in college football in Chip Kelly, but they will also be returning eight starters on offense and seven starters on defense from a team that just tore through Kansas State like tissue paper in the Fiesta Bowl. Granted, the Ducks will have to replace the production of Kenjon Barner next season, as well as shore up the defense after the departure of Kiko Alonso, Dion Jordan and Michael Clay, but replacing talent is something that Chip Kelly clearly specializes in. The Ducks were only returning 14 starters and breaking in a new quarterback for the 2012-2013 season and still managed to win the Fiesta Bowl. To replace Kenjon Barner, De’Anthony Thomas will certainly have to step up, which should be more than welcome ...

Chip Kelly’s Sudden Hiring by Eagles Surprises Recruit, Who Says Oregon Coach ‘Was at My House Two Days Ago’

At this point, we have to wonder who else didn’t know Chip Kelly was leaving Oregon to be the head coach of the Eagles when the surprising news came out Wednesday. His players? Oregon? His mom and dad, perhaps? At least one recruit who said he talked to Kelly as recently as Monday was shocked to hear Kelly was leaving. Nico Falah, an offensive tackle who has committed to USC but...

Chip Kelly leaving Ducks for Eagles

I guess it worked out with the Philadelphia Eagles after all. Oregon Ducks head coach Chip Kelly is going to the NFL, and not staying in college football. So you’ll get to see the quack attack in action at the college level no more. Kelly re-emerged as a candidate recently and an agreement was just reached Wednesday There is a concern of NCAA sanctions coming in Eugene, OR. But...

After all the drama, Chip Kelly is leaving Oregon

Oregon faces a future without Chip Kelly after all. After dramatically opting to stay with the No. 2 Ducks a little more than a week ago, the enigmatic Kelly changed his mind and decided to take an NFL job as head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. Kelly informed Oregon of his plans on Wednesday morning, shortly before the Eagles made it official. Following Oregon's victory...

Chip Kelly in as Eagles Head Coach

So while Gus Bradley was walking out the front door Chip Kelly was coming through the back. Kelly who previously stated he was “staying at Oregon” will now be the Eagles new Head Coach. Kelly who was 46-7 at Oregon will bring his fast paced offensive style in the hopes of  us fans resurrecting the Eagles. Kelly’s fast pace where his teams have averaged 90 offensive plays...

What To Expect: Chip Kelly Comes To Philadelphia

I Coach The Tarmac Where to begin? So much to dig into here, and so few electrons to spend on it. List time!   > Mike Vick will restructure or leave. But the first option is now actually possible. There is no scheme that can make Vick less injury-prone or get him back to the pre-age 30 wheels that would have made him downright fascinating in this offense. It's also an...

Nick Foles Bad Fit For Chip Kelly's Offense

The signing of Chip Kelly as the new head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles may not be good news for fantasy owners who were planning on keeping quarterback Nick Foles on their dynasty rosters.Fantasy Spin:Foles had a nice season as the replacement for injured Michael Vick, but at 6'5" and 245 lbs he is not the type of quarterback Kelly has utilized in his wide open Oregon offenses.

Search Already Gearing Up

EUGENE, Ore- Oregon Athletic Director Rob Mullens held a press conference to discuss the football program’s new coaching vacancy Wednesday. The conference took place just hours following the announcement that head coach Chip Kelly was leaving his stead as Oregon football coach for the same position with the NFL’s <A H

Conference Schadenfreude!

After a will they or won't they that would make Ross and Rachel tell them to just get on with it already, the Philadelphia Eagles have hired soon-to-be former Oregon coach Chip Kelly as their new head coach (according to every website on the internet). While we get to take a little enjoyment at the expense of Oregon, I suspect it'll revolve mostly around Chip's back and...

On Optics and Perception

Is Chud the right coach for the Browns? You don’t know. “Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.” - Albert Einstein “As we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns – there are things we do not...
