Martinez was a first-team All-Pac-12 selection and was also a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award. In 2023, Martinez rushed for 1,185 yards which came out to an average of 98.8 yards per game. He found the end zone nine times last season. Fans were hoping he would stay given that he did not transfer in the fall but that did not happen.
