TWO BEAVERS HAD a run-in with the law on Sunday according to multiple reports. For cornerback Malcolm Marable, it was his second incident this offseason. The other Beav was rising safety Ryan Murphy.

Oakland Tech Star Fred Thompson Dies
Oregon State University is mourning the death of a student-athlete with Bay Area roots.
Fred Thompson died Wednesday night after collapsing at a campus rec center of what appeared to be a heart attack. He was immediately taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, but doctors could not save him.
Thompson grew up in Richmond and was a star athlete at Oakland Tech high school. He graduated...

Oregon State player Thompson, 19, dies
Oregon State says freshman football player Fred Thompson has died.
School officials say the 19-year-old Thompson was playing basketball on campus Wednesday when he collapsed. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Thompson, 6-foot-4 and 317 pounds, was a true freshman defensive tackle from Richmond, Calif.
