Peyton discusses the Saints needs...

Sean Peyton still says that after signing Darren Sharper their need is still at safety, but is listing Chris Wells as their number two option. But he also said that a "power runner" wasnt a desperate need and would take a veteran runningback if one was released but he does have faith in Mike Bell and Lynell Hamilton.
Peyton also stated that the Linebacker position was an are of need and it's one of the deepest positions available early in the draft. Peyton said that receiver is not an option in round one because he feels you can always develop a receiver thats picked in the later rounds. He spoke very highly of Adrian Arrington saying that "he's smart" and "he's big". He was very explosive in training camp before being injured and being put on injured reserve.
Other than Jenkins, Peyton also discussed that Vontea Davis was high on his list. Well, I'll admit that at one point I was totally against drafting a DB this year but with Jason David making the money he is they need to find a long term fix, and with Sharper being his age he's not a long term fix either. David showed signs of being the only playmaker on defense but has yet shown that he can be a consistent starter. I feel that if Jenkins isnt there, they should look at LB Brain Cushing because Dan Morgan is aging too and he'll be gone soon "if" he even makes it back. If not LB then DE to help fix the pass rush because I'm sure if Grant and/or Smith dont turn it around they'll be gone as soon they're able to get rid of them.
Peyton also said that drafting "needs" isnt always a good plan because the Saints drafted McAllister when they already had Ricky Williams and it worked out. I say whatever to that. Use what you have and plan for the future. Unless they dont see Bush or Thomas in their future as runningbacks then they need to fix their problems. Either way, Sean Peyton didnt really give us any information to be able to look forward to anything.
