Ezekiel Ansah is the answer to this week’s poll question. The Brigham Young Cougars defensive end received 77% of the votes. Tied for second were Kyle Van Noy and Cody Hoffman with 8% each. Running Back Jamaal Williams was fourth with 4% of the vote, and the final 3% went to Taysom Hill. Maybe I missed something, but my vote goes to Hill. Each of these players had good games. Maybe Ansah has desensitized me by playing so well for three weeks in a row. He had a very nice game, but I wasn’t impressed with him as much as I was Hill. Hill made great strides with throwing the ball from the Hawaii game, and this was against a much tougher defense. His completion percentage jumped from 57 percent to 67 percent. He more than doubled his passing yards (112 to 235). Knee injury aside, it was also impressive that Hill led the team in rushing with 80 yards on 19 carries (even without that final carry he would have led the team in rushing). What impressed me the most, however, was how Hill playe...

Nelson's experience key for this Saturday

The Cougar offense has been in flux with the rotation of quarterbacks Riley Nelson and Taysom Hill the past few weeks. With Nelson returning this week, how might the Cougars have a better chance to win against Oregon State?

Yet the guy with a 39-inch vertical jump and arms that reach well above the rim instead has been wreaking havoc on the football field for a Cougars defense ranked fifth nationally and No. 1 against the...

Doman talks quarterbacks

Following Taysom Hill’s injury late in the Utah State game, the Cougars won’t be able to call on him the rest of this season. It’s very disappointing to offensive coordinator and quarterback coach Brandon Doman, especially since Hill got injured because of a miscommunication before a play in which he was supposed to take a knee.
