Byron Jerideau has been an anchor on the inside of the South Carolina defensive line that is among the nation's elite. Jerideau injured his ankle in Saturday's win over Georgia and is questionable for Saturday's contest at LSU. If Jerideau can't go, J.T. Surratt would likely get the start.

The South Carolina Gamecocks are ranked No. 3 in this week’s AP Poll and I could not be happier. Simply put, it is “Great to be a Gamecock.” It has been a long road for the USC football team and for fans of the program. This is the best ranking in the “Steve Spurrier era” and the second-highest ranking in school history; South Carolina reached the No. 2 spot in 1984. Also...
Coach Steve Spurrier says No. 3 South Carolina has high goals for this season and several are much bigger than starting 6-0 or dominating Georgia.

Not relevant, but still awesome.Welcome to the 578,682,357,683th installment of With Leather’s “We Are Absolute, Unapologetic Suckers For Any Video Of U.S. Soldiers Surprising Their Families At Sporting Events” and today’s video clip is a 5-star general of a doozie. The Gamecocks have come a long way under the guidance of Steve Spurrier. There have been some bumps along the road but he has the Gamecocks in the national championship talk and that should tell you right there that this is not the old South Carolina.
South Carolina had no shortage of highlights in their Saturday night rout massacre of Georgia, but Ace Sanders' 70 yard punt return was the best of the best. Sanders evaded at least seven Bulldogs on his way to the end zone, putting the Gamecocks up 21-0 in the first quarter and slamming the door on any Georgia comeback hopes.
