Finally, some good news for the Texas Longhorns. As UT looks to right the ship after a rough 1-2 start to the season, the team will have starting QB David Ash back under center this weekend the Longhorns take on Kansas State.
Texas announced the news today via Twitter:
QB David Ash has been cleared to play by the medical staff and @UT_MackBrown said he will start vs. Kansas State.

Ash didn’t play last week against Ole Miss after suffering a concussion and a shoulder injury in the BYU game. Ash threw for 343 yards and four touchdowns in the season opener, although he did have two interceptions.

Tweet Folks working the sidelines of a college football have to keep their heads on a swivel, as this poor guy working Saturday’s Texas game learned after taking this David Ash pass to the noggin: H/T to Gif Mock Session
Texas quarterback David Ash will start on Saturday against Kansas State, coach Mack Brown announced on Friday.
Ash missed last week's loss to Ole Miss with a concussion, and did not attend the game at the advice of doctors.
Ash returned to practice this week, and entered the season as the Big 12's most experienced quarterback. He's completed 39-of-62 passes for 594...
It was a rough third week for us (excepting Zach, who did very well). The results brought separation back to standings that had tightened up after the first two weeks of play. Here’s how each of us fared:
Zach Bigalke: 8-2
Matt Strobl: 4-6
John Mitchell: 2-8
In an effort to turn things around, collectively speaking, we take on a slate that lacks marquee matchups but does offer...
A Texas official says Longhorns quarterback David Ash is being evaluated for a head injury and won't return in the second half against Kansas State.
Ash missed last week's loss to Mississippi with concussion-like symptoms but returned Saturday night. He threw for 166 yards - including a 63-yard touchdown strike - and ran for 27 yards in helping Texas build a 17-7 lead.
David Ash tries to throw a pass away, but an staffer not paying attention gets a little gift to the dome. See the GIF below:

ESPN’s Sportscenter may want you to think that this play should be included in their NOT Top 10 list. This should be included in the Top 10 Boss Moments because when Texas quarterback David Ash threw this ball away and drilled a K-State staffer in the face he took it like a champ.
Dude, barely uncrossed his arms which he only did to readjust his sunglasses. Boss.
This pass by Texas quarterback David Ash missed its target… Or did it?

The Kansas State Wildcats (2-1) come to DKR for a Saturday night kick on ABC to face the reeling Texas Longhorns (1-2). Kansas State has historically owned the Longhorns, with the last UT win coming in 2003. Forecast models currently disagree about whether the rain will end early tomorrow or continue to Sunday, so the playing surface may be a bit slick...
Time for five things I think I think from Week 4 in the Big 12.
The Big 12's national reputation is taking a big hit. After West Virginia's loss to Maryland on Saturday, the Big 12 dropped to 2-5 this season against AQ-conference opponents and BYU. You earn your reputation in nonconference play, and the Big 12 has struck out with opportunities this year against LSU, BYU...
