ESPN’s Adam Schefter seems to believe there’s a good chance University of Oregon head coach Chip Kelly is coaching in the NFL next season. “I will be surprised if Chip Kelly is not coaching in the NFL next year,” Schefter said while talking on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, via Black Sports Online. “It would be an upset if he’s not in the NFL next year. Just on the basis of what you hear, speak with the people around the league. I think the belief among league executives is that Chip Kelly is gonna make the jump into the NFL next season.” With the NCAA set to investigate Oregon’s football program, now might be the time for Kelly to bolt for the NFL like Pete Carroll did.   Need NFL Tickets? var _CI = _CI || {}; (function() { var script = document.createElement('script'); ref = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; _CI.counter = (_CI.counter) ? _CI.counter + 1 : 1; document.write(''); script.type = 'text/javascript'; script.src = 'http://widget.crowdignite.com/widgets/27484?_ci_wid=_CI_widget_'+_CI.counter; script.async = true; ref.parentNode.insertBefore(script, ref); })(); sr_adspace_id = 1000005525107; sr_adspace_width = 300; sr_adspace_height = 250; sr_ad_new_window = true; sr_adspace_type = "graphic";

Chip Kelly denies contact with NFL

Oregon coach Chip Kelly is one of the hottest coaching names around, but he and his agent have denied contact with NFL teams.

Chip's All In: Where Will Kelly Land?

We've all heard the rumors, perhaps a few of us have even come to terms with the possibility existing that Oregon Ducks head coach Chip Kelly may not be on the sidelines for the 2012-13 season. If that is in fact the case, it would be a sad reality for the #5 ranked Ducks, (11-1, 8-1 Pac12) who came within a missed field goal of a second consecutive berth in the PAC-12 championship...

Tennessee coaching search: No Volunteers

The Tennessee faithful are starting to get restless. The Volunteers program should be able to attract a big name coach, but so far they’ve been turned down by a Big East coach, Charlie Strong, and Mike Gundy. The Vols are starting to venture into desperate territory, but they need to realize that sometimes great hires aren’t made in the first week, or for that matter, the first...

Jaguars Keeping Chad Henne & Blaine Gabbert In Place For Next Season?

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Jacksonville Jaguars are likely evaluating QB Chad Henne for the remainder of the season with the intentions of giving him a shot to compete with Blaine Gabbert again next season. “My guess is both quarterbacks will be back there next season, but Jacksonville would have no problems going with Henne, especially if he performs well down the...

Report: NFL teams view Matt Barkley as a late first-round pick

ESPN’s Adam Schefter made an appearance on Mike and Mike in the Morning and indicated that NFL teams view USC quarterback Matt Barkley as a late first-round pick in next April’s draft. This isn’t a surprise at all since Barkley was less than impressive this season. You could argue that he should have entered last year’s draft after his junior year.  He certainly would have...

Fantasy Football News – Big Ben “Making the Necessary Throws”

Fantasy Football News -Updating a previous item from the Fantasy Football Junkie, Mike Tomlin said Ben “was able to make all the necessary throws” and showed “good velocity” on his passes. It has been confirmed by ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Big Ben is expected to make the start this weekend, and although he’s not 100%, he is ready to go back out there. He also notes the...
