(Updates. With AP Photos.) By ALAN SCHER ZAGIER Associated Press A season that began with the promise of sharing the stage with college football royalty is threatening to turn sour for Missouri as the Tigers confront the realities of life in the unforgiving Southeastern Conference. A 19-15 home loss to perennial conference also-ran Vanderbilt kept Missouri (3-3, 0-3) winless in league games in its first season in the SEC after leaving the Big 12. Missouri is one of five conference teams still seeking its first SEC victory. In Missouri's case, that means its first SEC victory, ever. Few expect Missouri to get it when No. 1 Alabama (5-0, 2-0) visits Faurot Field Saturday in a coaching matchup pitting former Kent State teammates Gary Pinkel, Missouri's coach, and the Tide's Nick Saban. ''This year, there's so much hype being in the SEC, and you've got all the outside voices telling you that you (stink) and you're not worthy,'' senior offensive...

Missouri fans have already created a Fire Gary Pinkel site

The website has already been created by Missouri Tiger fans and it’s exactly what you’d expect from Mizzou. Our friends from pointed this one out to us on Twitter and it was too good not to post. Our hatred for Mizzou stems from a lot of things. Getting harassing tweets from their Twitter account and pretty much a cease a desist letter from...

If you were planning on creating a "Fire Gary Pinkel" website to call for the removal of the Missouri head football coach, you're a little too late. The website has unleashed the above page. Sadly this is all there is to it: a cartoonish angry Gary Pinkel face and a volcano. This it could be a gag site, then. If it is, it's kind...

Missouri QB James Franklin out for Alabama-Mizzou game.

Missouri will have to face the no.1 ranked team in the country without it's star quarterback. James Franklin was knocked out of the Tigers' embarrassing 19-15 loss to Vanderbilt with a knee injury that will keep him out of action for a while. Mizzou head football Gary Pinkell reports that coach reports that Franklin "has a strained MCL, so he’s out for a few weeks...

Cruddy: Mizzou should be embarrassed with loss to Vandy

The stage was set perfectly on a chilly Saturday night in Columbia, Missouri for the Mizzou Tigers football program to pick up their first ever SEC victory.  Vanderbilt was in town to play Gary Pinkel's Tigers. The Commodores, who traditionally find themselves at the bottom of the SEC heap, came into "The Zou" with just one win and had just lost 48-3 to Georgia...

Tigers Go Down At Home To Vanderbilt

On Saturday evening, the Vanderbilt Commodores (2-3, 1-2) defeated the Missouri Tigers (3-3, 0-3) by the final score of 19-15.

Old friends will be on opposite sides

Nick Saban, who is head coach at Alabama, and Gary Pinkel, head coach at Missouri, first met as student-athletes at Kent State University in the 1970s. Both have stayed in football as coaches, and both have been head coaches for many years, and they meet for the first time this week.
