This week the Georgia Bulldogs get what amounts to a scrimmage game, as they take on the New Mexico State Aggies at Sanford Stadium. The Bulldogs have been on a roll as of late, beating Florida last week 24-20 to move their record to 6-2 and extend their winning streak to 6. While it seems like this game against the Aggies-who are 3-5 so far this year-should give the Dawgs the chance to catch their breath, the absences of four Georgia running backs (three due to suspension and Richard Samuel due to injury) leaves everyone wondering who will be taking the majority of the carries come Saturday. Bulldogs offensive coordinator Mike Bobo said earlier in the week that the Bulldogs are  ”going to go with Kyle Karempelis and Brandon Harton, and [fullback Zander] Ogletree will fill in there, and then we might have a couple of surprises”, leaving the door open for cornerbacks Branden Smith and Brandon Boykin to see some time with the ball.

"Hey Coach Richt, give us a thumbs up if you have no idea who will be at RB on Saturday"

Offensively, the Bulldogs need to just hold onto the ball for 60 minutes and make smart plays. This Aggies squad does not even come close to matching up with any SEC school (they’ve lost to the likes of UTEP and San Jose State this year), so it would take a whole lot of help from Aaron Murray and Company to let this New Mexico State defense, which ranks 98th in the nation in points allowed, slow them down. Yes, the running game is very questionable this week, but surely the offensive staff can just play this game by ear and get enough yardage to put this one away before the third quarter even starts.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Bulldogs need to focus on cutting out the Aggies’ surprisingly good pass attack, which has gained an average of 297 yards per game. Sophomore quarterback Andrew Manley has thrown for 892 yards and 6 touchdowns so far this year, but the most staggering number is 3, the number of interceptions he’s thrown through 7 games (compare that to the 8 that Murray has thrown so far). It goes without saying that Georgia’s defensive line should be able to penetrate and get to Manley early and often, so doing so consistently to start the game will lead to mistakes, turnovers, and possibly some points for this lockdown Georgia defense.

Preview: Bulldog fans, if you have to pick a Saturday in which you have to get some work done around the house, this would be the day to chose. Georgia puts this game away after just two quarters of play, thanks to three touchdown passes by Aaron Murray and a 64-yard touchdown run by Brandon Boykin. The Aggies offense struggles to get anything going, and the Bulldogs coast to their seventh victory of the season. Bulldogs 41 Aggies 6

Passing: Aaron Murray has a fine game against this fierce WAC defense, throwing for 223 yards with 3 touchdowns and 0 INTs. Backup QB Hutson Mason plays in a mopup role in the second half and does a fine job, completing 7 passes on 12 attempts for 81 yards and 1 touchdown of his own.
Rushing:
While Harton winds up with the most carries in this one (13), Brandon Boykin makes the biggest plays, ending the game with 3 carries for 109 rushing yards and 1 touchdown.
Receiving:
Freshman Chris Conley has a big game, making 6 receptions for 71 yards and one touchdown.
