It’s been a year since Bobby Petrino played the worst April fool’s joke on Arkansas Razorback fans that has ever been played.  What happened on April 1, 2012, and the few days after will be burned into the memory of Hog fans forever.  2012 was going to be Arkansas’s year.  They were coming off of a Cotton Bowl win, had one of the best QB’s in the nation coming back, along with several returning starters on both sides of the ball.  They had Alabama and LSU on the home schedule, everyone was already making plans for College Gameday to be in Fayetteville for the battle against the Tide.  It was all coming together perfectly. Then it happened. What transpired the following year, beginning with the crash, the subsequent infamous press conference and the firing of Coach Petrino is well known.  The disaster of a hiring in John L. Smith and dismantling of a dream season last fall and the eventual firing of Coach Smith was a test of fandom by the evil football gods; A test that could divide a fan base of the strongest following.  A test Razorback fans have been through many times, probably too many times even.
