Anthony Spencer was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct at an Indiannapolis Bar. Spencer, who was the Dallas Cowboys 1rst Round Draft Pick in 2007, allegedly struck a bouncer when he was asked to leave a club passed closing time and refused. Spencer played his college ball at Purdue. He was credited with 59 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and six quarterback hurries. Spencer missed four games due to knee and hamstring injuries. Upon his return, he replaced Gregg Ellis as the starting linebacker in the standard defense.In positive news, DeMarcus Ware won the inaugural Butkus Award for professional players. The award is typically given to the best college linebacker, but the award was expanded to include the best professional and high school linebacker.
