The Temple Owls defeated the Army Black Knights 42-14 as running backs Bernard Pierce and Matt Brown rushed for a total of 290 yards and six touchdowns. Pierce ran for three touchdowns in the win after missing the last two because of a head injury. The running back came into the game during the Owls’ second possession of the first quarter. Brown, who got the start, rushed for 133 yards, his fifth straight rushing for over 100 yards. He now has rushed for 835 yards this season, breaking his old personal record of 830 yards set last year. The Temple defense did its part, not seeming phased by the triple option offense Army ran. Army ended the game with two passes completed out of 12 attempts for 28 yards and 340 total rushing yards. However, many of those 340 yards came with the game well out of reach.
