We're down to the remaining five freshmen that could have an impact on your college football picks this season.

At number five is Andrus Peat, a giant offensive tackle out of Stanford.

Though the Cardinal return nine starters from last year's excellent team, they have a terrific freshmen class coming in, led by Peat. He should immediately challenge for a starting job due to his huge height (6-foot-7, 307 pounds) and great skillset.

Next is Wes Lunt, our first and only quarterback on the list. Lunt will replace Brandon Weeden as the starting QB and will be part of a system where he should have as many as 40 attempts per game in that pass-friendly offense.

Number three on our impact freshmen list is Stefon Diggs. Diggs is an extremely versatile wideout who could make even more of a difference than Missouri standout Dorial Green-Beckham. Why? The ACC's defensive shortcomings are huge compared to the stacked SEC and Diggs is a big talent.

We round out the top five with a couple big shots and first is Shaq Thompson out of Washington.

Thompson is the number one rated safety of this class and will be a nice addition to a Huskies defense that will have to contend with explosive Pac-12 offenses like USC, Oregon and Stanford.

To top the list, we've got offensive tackle D.J. Humphries.

A five-star recruit who will be bulldozing defensive lines for Florida, Humphries was highly sought after but ultimately chose the Gators as his preferred destination. He's the top-ranked tackle and second-ranked overall recruit of the class and he is excellent in both run blocking and pass protection.

Well there it is. That finishes our peek into the top ten impact freshman of 2012. Who's ready for the season to start already?
