One day before the Texas Longhorns and Oregon State Beavers meet in the Valero Alamo Bowl, two Longhorn football players are being investigated for an alleged sexual assault which took place early Friday morning, according to San Antonio’s KENS5. Police were called at 2:48 a.m. Friday to the Holiday Inn Riverwalk in the 200 block of North St. Mary. A woman told police she met two UT players out partying overnight and invited them back to her room at the Holiday Inn. She later made the allegations of sexual assault to police. Since no arrests have been made, the names of the players involved have not been released. The story is troubling on several accounts but what appears to be true is two players were out in the early hours of the morning in a hotel that was not the Marriott River Center (the team’s hotel) according to the report. Updates to follow as additional information becomes available.

The Texas Longhorns are heading into the Alamo Bowl without their back up quarterback Case McCoy and without linebacker Jordan Hicks, who Mack Brown referred to as a “team leader” on Friday in a press conference. The Texas Longhorns are trailing Oregon State at halftime of the Alamo Bowl but at least one member of their defense came out fighting. Literally.
Safety Kenny Vaccaro took the time to punch Oregon State wide receiver Kevin Cummings. It is assumed that the referees missed these punches as Vacarro remained in the game.
