It seems like Tyrann Mathieu has every intention of making it difficult for an NFL team to make a commitment to him.
The former LSU defensive back’s dalliances with drugs in the past is well documented and has caused teams to shy away from the troubled player, although, he is considered by some to be the best at his position in this year’s NFL Draft.
According to a report via Josh Katzowitz of CBS Sports, Jay Glazer of Fox Sports told the Dan Patrick radio show that Honey Badger missed meetings with the Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans last week. There are reports that he was sick but if you’re already walking on thin ice like Mathieu is, the only way you should miss that meeting is if there’s a death in the family.
You can be certain that this news has come to the attention of every organization and will go down as another reason as to why teams won’t want to take the plunge and risk an early pick on Mathieu.
Mathieu is choosing the wrong week to attract negative attention to himself, there’s a possibility that a team will take a chance on him in the second or third rounds today, but by no means is that a certainty.
BEST OF MAXIM
Tyrann Mathieu finally went in the draft. The Honey Badger was selected by the Arizona Cardinals in the third round — No. 69 overall — which may have been slightly higher than what most people expected. Mathiue’s stock had fallen after he was kicked off LSU’s football team for reportedly failing multiple drug tests. He spent some time in rehab and missed the entire football...
It was already a bad enough idea for Tyrann Mathieu to host an NFL Draft party. When you have a reputation for having off-field problems that include a past marijuana addiction, being a party guy is not the image you wan’t to portray. But it’s also questionable when the flyer bills you as a “1st Round Draft Pick.”
Mathieu posted a picture to Instagram Wednesday of a flyer...

Maiocco adds that San Francisco is unlikely to use their No. 34 overall pick on him.

Check out the ad for the party which will be held at S&L night club...
Tyrann Mathieu may not have been selected Thursday in the first round of the NFL Draft (it was in Round 3 to Arizona ), but at least the Honey Badger can take comfort in knowing that he didn't have the worst night among LSU defensive backs hoping to go pro.
According to KATC.com , former Tigers cornerback Tharold Simon was arrested Thursday in his hometown of Eunice, La., where...
Former LSU defensive back Tyrann Mathieu, aka the Honey Badger, must know something that the rest of us do not. How else can you explain why the man is holding a Draft Day party on Thursday?
Now had he played last season and all his troubles not come to light no one would think a thing about it. Assuming he would have played like he did two seasons ago he likely would...
Day two of the NFL draft answered the pressing questions as to where Manti Te’o, Geno Smith and the former “Honey Badger” Tyrann Mathieu would end up. First up, Geno Smith.
Our last images of Geno Smith from day one of the draft were of Smith sitting in Radio City Music Hall waiting for his name to be called looking extremely uncomfortable. He didn’t even have an ensemble...
The phrase good things come to those who wait was paraphrased from the Book of Lamentations by the advertising agency BBDO to sell Heinz ketchup in the 1980s and Guinness beer in the mid-1990s.
It most certainly was not written or spoken or even considered as a passing thought by anyone in the 2013 NFL Draft. For the fans on the floor of Radio City Music Hall on Friday night for the...

According to USA Today Sports, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports told the Dan Patrick Show that LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu hurt his draft stock by blowing off interviews with a couple NFL teams.
Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer said during an interview on the Dan Patrick Show Friday that Mathieu blew off visits with the Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans last week. “Off the grid,” is the...
The LSU Tigers set an NFL Draft record by having 6 defensive players taken in the first 3 rounds of the draft. Yes, Tyrann Mathieu counts towards that number because the last school he played for was, you guessed it, LSU.
No. 6: Barkevious Mingo, Cleveland Browns
No. 18: Eric Reid, San Francisco 49ers
No. 45: Kevin Minter, Arizona Cardinals
No. 67: Bennie Logan, Philadelphia Eagles...

Apparently, being an NFL Draft hopeful from LSU and also getting in trouble with the law aren’t mutually exclusive things.
That’s because in the midst of an NFL Draft where one of the biggest questions remains where Tyrann Mathieu will be selected after a slew of failed drug tests and an October arrest, another former Bayou Bengal was in...
