University at Buffalo defensive end Colby Way has been named MAC East Defensive Player of the Week for his week 1 performance vs. Georgia. The junior lineman had six tackles and two sacks as he stepped up big for the Bulls in their opener. Way’s sack late in the first half was crucial in stopping a Bulldogs drive, giving the ball back to UB before they went on to record a field goal. Other MAC East player of the week performers for week 1 included Ohio quarterback Tyler Tettleton (Offensive) and Kent State kick returner Dri Archer (Special Teams).
