The UNLV Rebels have won 2 games in each of the last 3 seasons, but that doesn’t matter, what matters is building an $800 million dollar stadium. Apparently the Rebels have plans for a new stadium with a retractable roof that will host both football and basketball games, along with Vegas events. These new events might include a Mountain West Conference football championship game, a new college football bowl game, a NFL exhibition game, the UFC International Fight Week, a championship boxing match, a soccer expo, a smaller Electric Daisy Carnival music festival, the American Country Music awards and touring concerts. The real kicker is the 100-yard long video board that will run along one side of the stadium rendering the field completely irrelevant…just like UNLV football. UNLV’s last winning football season came in 2000 when they finished 8 – 5.
