First reported by Tim May from the Columbus Dispatch, following charges of domestic violence and assault, linebacker Storm Klein has been dismissed from the Ohio State football team by Head Coach Urban Meyer. Meyer said in a press release,

“The charges filed against Storm Klein violate the core values of the Ohio State Football Program. It has been made very clear that this type of charge will result in dismissal. If there are any changes in the charges, we will re-evaluate his status.”

Klein, a 6’2″ senior linebacker from Newark, recorded 45 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 sack, 1 INT, 1 FF, and 1 fumble recovery in his junior season in a starting role before losing it late in the season to freshman Ryan Shazier.

This is the second harsh stance that Meyer has had to take in his short time as OSU Head Coach amid criticism of higher than average lawbreaking on his watch at Florida. The first was removing the scholarships of tight end Jake Stoneburner and offensive lineman Jack Mewhort for the summer quarter.
