Northwestern must be the most unlucky final-play-in-regulation team in the entire country. Two weeks ago, the Wildcats lost to Nebraska on a ridiculous 49-yard “hail mary” pass from Ron Kellogg III to Jordan Westerkamp. Today, Michigan’s Brendan Gibbons ran onto the field with under 10 seconds to go and somehow nailed a 44-yard field goal as time expired. The execution was flawless. The game is tied, 9-9, in overtime.

Hoke says Gibbons’ field goal may be ‘the best single play I’ve ever seen’

Brendan Gibbons’ 44-yard field goal was certainly amazing as the last second effort eventually sent the Wolverines to a 27-19 triple overtime victory over Northwestern Saturday afternoon. The epic final second boot also saved Michigan from another defeat with Brady Hoke calling it perhaps ‘the best single play’ he’s ‘ever seen’. “That tells you about the discipline...

Michigan wins, beats Northwestern 27-19 in triple-overtime

Answering Devin Gardner’s Challenge: What I’d Do as Michigan’s Offensive Coordinator

Devin Gardner had this to say to critics of Michigan offensive coordinator Al Borges: “Maybe they should try and find a job as an offensive coordinator then. Maybe they should be an offensive coordinator somewhere if they can do better. … “You can think what you want, but the reality is [the fans] are where they are for a reason. They’re not offensive coordinators anywhere...

Horrorscape 2013: Michigan vs Northwestern

I’m not going to lie: it gets hard to really invest anymore. This is what happens when you’re so used to crushing failure and humiliating defeat that you can’t fully invest anymore because your sanity just can’t take it anymore. I’m openly sympathizing with guys who get ridiculously drunk because Michigan made them do it. The sad part is that Michigan is 6-3 and could very...

Michigan Wins; Desmond Howard Loses It

Whew! It took an amazing special team’s last second field goal to send it into overtime, and three overtimes for Michigan to bag the win that arguably resurrected the season.  Although the Wolverines beat Northwestern 27-19, it was as ugly.  It was windy, raining, and cold.  Then, there were Northwestern’s “Wounded Warrior” uniforms.  Don’t get me wrong, it is a noble...
