Texas A&M had new life coming out of halftime. A.J. McCarron and the Tide’s offense was forced to punt to open the third quarter. Not being able to score was obviously a missed opportunity for the offense to continue to build upon its 28-14 lead over the Aggies.
However, Vinnie Sunseri decided he was going to be all the offense Alabama needed. A Manziel pass was deflected high into the air. The safety hauled it in, made a move, then another, shook past a diving Johnny Football, and then “beast moded” the last few yards for an unreal pick-six. The 73-yard defensive touchdown gave the Tide 35 unanswered points on the day.
As for Sunseri, the score served as his second interception return for a touchdown through the Tide’s first two games. He also took one to the house against Virginia Tech in the season opener.
