The B1g Time:
Peyton Manning is fond of "idiot kickers", well perhaps Urban Meyer is about to become fond of "idiot 3rd string QB's." Why? Well, Ohio State's 3rd string QB Cardale Jones decided to unload on having to go to class recently via his twitter account:

Here's the tweet from Ohio State QB Cardale Jones. He certainly wants to take the student out of student-athlete pic.twitter.com/2Ev4PAbw

I get that sometimes classes can be hard and can be a drag, lord knows we've all sat through them if you've attended college of any sort, but dude realizes he's getting a free education, right?
Of course you could argue he's clearly not getting an education in English by his tweet, but that's beyond the point here.
Seriously, tell you what Cardale - you can give up your scholarship and allow someone paying a ton of money to attend school at tOSU to take on a scholarship. Chances are they might appreciate it and actually do something with it.
Am I naive enough to think that all athletes, especially football players, are in college to get an education first and foremost? No, but I also know enough football players on scholarship that actually take their educations seriously, even star athletes - guys like Jared Abbrederis, Rex Burkhead, James Vandenberg, and Josh Johnson have managed to do it.
Hell, even Tyrell Pryor saw fit to attempt to get an education - earning academic all-Big Ten honors while attending classes at Ohio State. Sure, you could question the validity of it, but the point is even a guy who was dumb enough to sell clothes, rings, etc. at least saw fit to keep his mouth shut and go to class, pay attention in class, and get good grades.
Here's a piece of advice from every person who aspired to be a college athlete to all those on scholarship: Shut the hell up, go to class and if you don't like it - leave college. I'm sure there are plenty of kids willing to hold a clipboard for 12 Saturday's a year and earn a free education from a top notch university.
Sorry, but stupid people piss me off and Cardale, you are one of the stupid people that piss me off.

Bruschi's Breakdown: New England Patriots must match wits with Peyton Manning - ESPN Boston:
I think we can all agree that going to classes as a college student sucks. Even people who never went to college probably believe that to be the case, which in fact may be at least part of the reason they didn’t attend college in the first place. But when you are a football player [...]
The Memphis Grizzlies are in the process of being sold and the new ownership group has added a new minority partner: All-Pro QB Peyton Manning. It ooks like Peyton Manning is finally putting all that commercial money to good use.
Technically Manning's wife, Ashley, is the one serving as the part owner but it's fair to say that Peyton is the one putting up the cash...
NFL quarterback Peyton Manning is supporting wife Ashley's move to join the group of minority owners being assembled by prospective owner Robert J. Pera, and a person familiar with the deal says former NBA player Penny Hardaway also will be part of the group.
Manning and Hardaway join a minority group that includes singer and actor Justin Timberlake and a couple of Memphis businessmen...
Ohio State players will think twice the next time they're about to sending anything out on social media. Third string freshman quarterback Cardale Jones made headlines on Friday when he tweeted, "Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain't come to play SCHOOL, classes are POINTLESS." It turns out the tweet has come back to bite him...
I have a hard time killing the kid for feeling this way, but tweeting “we ain’t come to play SCHOOL” is pretty dumb on a number of levels. From The Huffington Post:
Cardale Jones, the third-string quarterback for the Ohio State Buckeyes, doesn’t understand what the heck he’s doing going to classes and having to learn things at college.
“Why should we have to go to class...

When Denver travels to New England this Sunday, will it be a match up between the Broncos and Patriots or a battle of Brady and Manning? Well it's both in a big early season game for both teams. They both sit at 2 - 2 and believe me, neither quarterback wants to fall under .500 and fall back in their respective divisions. But let's get real! The intrigue of this game...

The Denver Broncos head back to Gillette Stadium to face the New England Patriots and I just can’t help to feel that we may just have a team that can compete with Tom Brady. [DenverBroncos.com]
The tale of the tape is all about bowing down to the alter of Brady and the Patriots. Barely worth the watch, but one must always remain objective. [NFL.com]
The Patriots and Jets may be technically tied atop the AFC East with identical 2-2 records, but that's about where the similarities end. While the Patriots are coming off of a convincing come-from-behind win in Buffalo last week, the Jets are coming off of a beatdown at the hands of the 49ers. Both teams face big games again this week with New England hosting Peyton Manning and...
