The Iowa Hawkeyes coaching staff will undergo more change this off season as defensive backs coach Darrell Wilson is leaving Iowa City to take over the same position at Rutgers. Wilson’s departure has been rumored for weeks, as was that of wide receivers coach Erik Campbell before Iowa finally announced his departure just a few weeks back. Kirk Ferentz said in his signing day press conference one week ago that he’d have more to say on other possible coaching staff changes in 10 days to two weeks, so Iowa is now in the window of change. The questions that remain are: 1) Who will Iowa hire to replace Wilson and Campbell and 2) Is this the last change for this year? With Wilson and Campbell added to the mix, Iowa has now seen five of its nine assistant coaches who were on the sidelines for Iowa’s game at Nebraska in 2011 turn over, including two new coordinators.
