Florida TE to Transfer to KU

After two seasons at Florida, sophomore tight end Kent Taylor decided it was time to move on from The Swamp. The former four-star prospect and #1 tight end in the class of 2012 announced yesterday he plans to transfer to Kansas, where he will reunite with former Gators offensive coordinator Charlie Weis.

Four transfers, one graduation announced

Florida announced on Thursday that fullback Rhaheim Ledbetter, tight end Kent Taylor, offensive lineman Quinteze Williams and offensive lineman Trevon Young will transfer from the school. Offensive lineman Ian Silberman, who just completed his redshirt junior season, will graduate on Saturday and play his final season at another school.

Taylor hoping to earn starting role

Florida tight end Kent Taylor has heard Will Muschamp’s message this offseason. The Florida head coach used any opportunity he could to talk about the question marks at tight end. It’s the only position Muschamp feels like won’t improve on the offense this fall. Taylor has added 20 pounds in the offseason, and now up to 240 pounds, the sophomore thinks he can win the job.
