After practice on Tuesday, Arizona State head coach Todd Graham voiced his displeasure with the defensive-line’s effort and conditioning. He wanted his comments to be read by the players, he wanted them to be heard.
The defensive linemen, specifically redshirt junior tackle Mo Latu, took it to heart and had what Graham called one of their best practices of the spring on Thursday.
The 2013 season has been somewhat of a roller coaster for redshirt sophomore Mo Latu. At the beginning of the year, it looked like Latu would be the force inside that the Arizona State defense would need to derail the run-heavy teams in their four game gauntlet, but a knee injury prevented him from doing so and he has really yet to fully recover until now.
It has come full circle for Mo Latu. The local Gilbert Perry standout was ranked
as the No. 2 center nationally, but started his Arizona State career on the defensive line. He moved to the an offensive line and appeared in 12 of 13 games in 2012, but recently in spring practice he’s transitioned back to the defensive front and is elated with that role change.
