RUTGERS SCARLET KNIGHTS RUMORS & GOSSIP
New Rutgers Football uniforms by Nike.
SNY hosted the Rutgers Football program on Tuesday as the team unveiled their new uniforms designed by Nike. The Scarlet Knights and Nike had been working on this design for a while. Rutgers had a specific vision in mind and Nike was able to capture that with the new look.
“The best thing about working with Nike was this is just not a...
KILLER THREADS, MAN
The Rutgers Scarlet Knights are the latest collegiate football team to show off the Nike Pro Combat uniforms they will wear during the 2012 season.
PISCATAWAY, N.J. -- Rutgers redshirt freshman Tyler Kroft was hard at work in the weight room this offseason and it is paying off during spring camp. With D.C. Jefferson and Malcolm Bush injured, Kroft is one of two scholarship tight ends practicing with the team during the spring.
Mohamed Sanu of Rutgers led all of the Scarlet Knight receivers with 1,144 yards, 109 receptions and 7 touchdowns.
Ranked the seventh best wide receiver prospect by Walters Football, Sanu is a 6'2 215 lbs. According to most mock drafts Sanu is a second round pick, but some have him going towards the end of the first round.
Desperate times call for desperate measures, and the Big East is content to keep on keepin’ on. With West Virginia nearing their Big East buyout, some talks have surfaced about potential scheduling issues if they indeed leave early, which – barring any massive breakdowns – should happen. If the Big East cannot grab another team [...]
PAY UP
Former Rutgers coach Greg Schiano recently signed a $15 million deal to become the head coach of the Bucs, but he'll reportedly have to give $800,000 of it to his old employer.
Rutgers won for the second time at Yankee Stadium in a seven-week span, turning back Iowa State 27-13 in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl. Thanks to a near-flawless defensive effort, a 131-yard rushing performance from Jawan Jamison, and an 86-yard scoring bomb to Brandon Coleman from Chas Dod. Greg Schiano has long stated his belief that Rutgers has every right to call New York City its...
ROAD TO RECOVERY
Paralyzed former Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand actually sat up on his own. Check out the video and you’ll see this amazing accomplishment.
LeGrand has been able to sit upright on his own for as long as 23 seconds during physical therapy.
A physical therapist has to lift LeGrand into the sitting position, but he’s able to hold that upright position on a regular...
Khaseem Greene grew up a half-hour train ride from New York City, but the Rutgers junior linebacker never spent "more than a couple hours" there.
So you can imagine his anticipation for when Rutgers spends four days in Manhattan leading up to the Dec. 30 Pinstripe Bowl.
Greene, who is favored to earn the Big East Conference Defensive Player of the Year on Wednesday, will...
THE GIFT OF GRAB
A one-handed catch is not always just a one-handed catch. Most of them are impressive, but some represent more important things than others. When Kellen Winslow pulled down this sick one-handed catch earlier in the season, it was a play you simply tip your hat to and move along. When Andrew Luck made a one-handed [...]
It may sound crazy and it may be far fetched, but the Rutgers Scarlet Knights still have a shot at the Big East title this season. Many Rutgers fans will read that sentence and immediately say, “Well, Schiano blew it with his quarterback mess.” I am not going to get into that, because there are still some positives to look at here.
Chas Dodd came on in relief of Gary...
INSPIRATIONAL STEPS
Eric LeGrand’s football career ended last October when he tackled Malcolm Brown on a kick return at New Jersey’s Meadowlands Stadium.
“I fell to the ground and my body just went, ‘ding,’” he said. “That’s all I hear, like my bell was ringing and I — my body was stuck … I try to get up but I couldn’t.”

INSPIRATIONAL COMEBACK
Eric LeGrand, the former Rutgers Scarlet Knights player who was paralyzed last season but has since made a miraculous recovery, will lead his former teammates out onto the field Saturday.
STUDIO STAR
Just over a year ago, Rutgers defensive tackle Eric LeGrand was paralyzed from the neck down after making a tackle against Army. He was originally told he would never breathe without a ventilator and only given a fraction of a chance of regaining his neurological functions. Today, the inspirational young man who went to college to become a sports broadcaster made his national network...
