Lance Armstrong feels like he was singled out and would not have been stripped of his seven Tour de France titles if he hadn’t fought back so hard against those who accused him of cheating. “If we’re gonna be honest, then just say ‘He’s an a——. We had to go after him. He tested positive for being the biggest a—— in the world.’ Fair. I can live with that,” Armstrong said in a lengthy interview for ESPN The Magazine. “To say that he cheated his competitors? Ask them! Ask my competitors.” Armstrong told the magazine that he would dope again because everyone else was. “I knew what my competitors were doing …we (Postal team) were doing less,” Armstrong said. “We were more conservative and that’s the reason we were never going to be caught. This is a story because I was a bigger a——. Because I was more litigious. Because I was more combative. And I’ve heard from a lot of people who say ‘You made all the

I checked with the BBB and was told that it is all legit. How they can sell gift cards, laptops, cameras, and all kinds of goodies that we all want for 50-90% off, I don’t know
I do know that I bought my son an ipad there for less than $100 and my husband a $250 Low gift
cards for 48Why would I even think about shopping anyþlace else?

    .
  • Still rationalizing and enabling your past misdeeds to people and the Tour. I agree that a good portion of your competitors were also cheating. A recent report and work by a well known Tour trainer/coach pointed out where others were cheating acheiving superhuman wattage on certain portions of the past several tours which points to cheating. He has been pretty much ignored by Tour officials because they really don't want to let it be known how much cheating has gone on in the past.
  • Once an idiot, always an idiot!

  • I know the French teams were very jealous about loseing to Lance,, But lets face it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lance doped the same as they did,, But how many of them had cancer???????? I say the field was even and lance was the better rider,, you can dope,, but dopeing with cancer is a huge downturn!!!!!!! If the field was even then they just got there asses handed to them,,, and thats that!!!
  • More BS, from a BSmaster! He didn't get punished because he fought too hard for his innocence. He got punished because, in spite of all of his lying, he got caught cheating!

The man is a known cheat and a known liar.
  • hey TriKona and hawaiikai ...... Matthew 7:1-5 be nice
  • ..
  • I believe that doping is or was a huge part of the Sport. That's unfortunate. But if that was how everyone rolled, then how can we make Lance such a villain? Say what you want. I became a huge fan of cycling, and Triathlon, because of his feats. Thanks for inspiring many folks to ride Lance. And you also taught a lesson. It is always good to be a nice person. Have heard stories about the cruel person you could be. Hopefully a lesson learned. Too much type A personality no doubt. Im in great shape at 51 in large part to your run. Thanks again. You are still the champ!
  • Lance Armstrong in my opinion is one of the greatest athletes on the planet. He was the most drug tested person ever, testing negative for PED's, each and every time during his reign.

Timing is the critical thing here. I believe/heard, the entire bike world through the time he was winning the "Tour", were taking PED's of one sort or the other ( and still are). He didn't test positive for ANY illegal PED's being test for AT THAT TIME.

However he was singled out and was tested up to 5-8 YEARS after he won his championships that were not illegal then, but illegal NOW causing him to eventually to be stripped of his accomplishments, shunned and humiliated. Rapheal Palmerio, Darryl Strawberry, Barry Bonds, Mark McGuire, and company weren't stripped of anything. Oops they might get an asterisk beside there name in the record books

Yes I personally dont approve of PED's, but if everyone is going to do them, and you are taking PED's not currently on the illegal list, what's the big deal? On that basis I don't think it is fair to take his awards away almost 10 years later.
Shame on the Biking World and the overseeing body.

I overheard a discussion on the radio between two sportscasters, a short time ago, who will remain nameless ( although I should name them because I was outraged out their comments)Say in one breath how dissappointed they were in LA's behavior, how unAmerican and how could he dupe the entire country for years. In the next breath how virtuous NFL players are related to PED's. I almost vomited.

As I understand it, in addition to being subject to random testing every year, LA was tested after every race and they were negative. HMMM I wonder what would be the outcome if they tested every player on the winning team after every NFL game ?

  • Doping or no doping . . . I still feel Armstrong is one of the greatest and most dedicated athletes in ANY sport. The physicality of the training to be a cyclist is about 4,000 times greater than any other sport.
  • NOT. A cheater is a cheater is a cheater. Who knows how he would have fared in all those Tour de France races if he were not doping. I seriously doubt he'd be anywhere near first.
  • Didn't he test posi. for marihoochie ? Why is this still illeagle ? 'LANCE ROMANCE TAKE A STANCE'
  • So you were singled out because you were a mean asshole? Uh, YEAH. You were a mean asshole. You bad mouthed and ruined a lot of people who didn't kowtow to your demands. You bullied and terrorized your teammates and anyone who dared to question you. You were stripped of all your wins because YOU CHEATED. And it doesn't matter that EVERYONE was also cheating. YOU WERE ALL cheaters but YOU were the KING of the cheaters. When the mighty fall, they fall BIG. Learn from this Lance and quit being an arrogant asshole who keeps making excuses for your horrible behavior. People would respect you a hell of a lot more.
  • My wife says when you do wrong....wrong follows..Lance Armstrong..faced one of the most serious trials a person could face....cancer..That victory alone is fantastic...As to his doping and subsequent lies about it..that is a different story..The 'rules' were broken by him..and he was caught..Looks to me like he was more upset about being caught than about breaking rules..his answer..others are doing it..hog wash
